About your developer

Hi, I'm Tony.

Chef. Hospitality veteran. Web developer. Local.

I've spent most of my life in hospitality, tourism, and small business — working in kitchens, managing teams, and helping operators keep things running smoothly. After moving into IT and web development, I realised something simple: most local businesses don't need a big agency. They need someone who understands the region and the work, and who actually listens.

That's the approach I bring to every project. When you work with me, you deal directly with the person designing and building your site. Clear communication, practical advice, and a focus on what will genuinely help your business — not what looks good on an agency invoice.

If you want a website built with real understanding of how local businesses operate, I'm here to help.

How I got here

Early career

Ten years in professional kitchens

I spent a decade working in professional kitchens — learning how hospitality businesses actually operate from the inside. The pressure of service, the importance of presentation, the reality of running a business where margins are tight and every customer interaction matters.

Retail

Into hospitality retail

Moving into hospitality retail gave me a different perspective — the customer-facing side, stock management, staff, and the constant challenge of standing out in a competitive local market. I watched businesses succeed and fail, and I started to notice that the ones who struggled online struggled everywhere.

Whitsundays

Seven years in the region

Moving to Airlie Beach gave me an even clearer picture. The Whitsundays is a region full of brilliant small businesses — cafés, tour operators, accommodation providers — many of whom are being underserved by digital agencies that don't understand their seasonal business models, their reliance on tourism, or the specific challenges of operating in a regional area.

Now

Whitsunday Web Studio

I retrained in IT, completed my Certificate III, and built Whitsunday Web Studio with one goal: to give local businesses access to quality digital work from someone who actually understands their industry. Every site I build draws on 20 years of knowing what hospitality and tourism businesses need — not just what looks good on screen.

Why it matters

What makes WWS different

There are plenty of web designers. Here's why local hospitality and tourism businesses choose to work with me.

I understand your industry

I've worked in professional kitchens and hospitality retail for 20 years. I know what a café owner actually needs from a website — not what an agency thinks they need.

I'm genuinely local

I live in Airlie Beach. I know the Whitsundays market, the seasonal patterns, the local businesses, and the specific challenges of operating in a tourism-driven region.

Direct access, always

You deal with me personally — not an account manager, not an offshore team. When you call or email, I'm the one who picks up and knows your project.

Transparent pricing

No hidden fees, no surprise invoices. You'll know exactly what you're paying for before any work begins — and exactly what you're getting in return.

Honest advice

If you don't need something, I'll tell you. If there's a cheaper solution that works just as well, I'll recommend it. I'd rather give you good advice than sell you something you don't need.

Modern, coded right

No templates, no bloated page builders. Clean, fast, purpose-built websites that work properly across every device and don't give you headaches down the track.

How I work

A few things I believe in

These aren't marketing slogans. They're the principles that actually shape how I take on projects and treat clients.

01

Done is better than perfect

A live website that works is worth more than a perfect one still being tweaked. I build to completion, get it live, then improve from there.

02

Transparency over sales

I'd rather lose a job by being honest than win it by overselling. You'll always know what you're getting, what it costs, and why.

03

Local businesses deserve quality

You shouldn't need a Sydney agency budget to get a great website. The Whitsundays has brilliant small businesses that deserve digital work that matches their quality.

04

The relationship matters

I want clients who come back. That means doing right by people even when it's inconvenient — because reputation in a regional area is everything.

"I didn't start this business to be a web developer. I started it because I kept seeing great local businesses being let down by people who didn't understand their industry."
